This has been long overdue in India.
A symposium to educate about the medical needs and rights of older persons was organised at the India Habitat Centre on June 30.
The occasion, apart from giving an insight into the plight of the aged in our country, spoke about how things could be made better for them in the final years of their life.
Even though India as a society is built on respect for elders, it’s mostly a theory these days. More education is definitly needed.
